Privacy

Privacy-first by design

TheToolHub.io is built to be small, fast and private. We design tools so your inputs stay on your device by default — we aim to minimise the data we collect and keep everything transparent.

Overview

We operate with three core privacy principles: minimal data, local-first inputs and transparent monetisation. That means most interactions happen entirely in your browser, and we only use third-party services where necessary (and disclosed below).

Data we collect

In general: we don't collect personal inputs. Calculations and form entries are processed locally in your browser and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly choose to share or submit them.

  • On-device inputs: The default — your values remain in your browser memory (localStorage/sessionStorage or in-memory while the page is open).
  • Crash or error reports: If you choose to send a bug report we may receive the information you include in that report (optional).
  • Public contributions: If you contribute via GitHub (issues, pull requests), GitHub’s policies apply to that content.

Analytics

We use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics only to understand how the site performs and which tools are used. Analytics are aggregated and anonymous — we do not use identifiers to profile users.

If you use an ad blocker or tracker blocker some analytics may be blocked — that’s fine, we respect your choices.

Advertising & revenue

TheToolHub is funded by a small number of lightweight ads. Ads help keep the tools free and cover hosting and maintenance costs.

  • Ads are shown in a privacy-respecting manner — we do not sell personal data.
  • If you use an ad blocker, ads may not appear — that’s okay; the site will still work.
  • If you prefer not to see ads and want to support the project directly, see the "Support & contributions" section on the About page (GitHub contributions, hosting donations, etc.).

Cookies & storage

We use minimal, functional cookies only where necessary (for example to remember simple preferences). Most tools rely on browser memory (localStorage/sessionStorage) so you won't need cookies to use core features.

Third-party services

We may use third-party services for ads, analytics, and hosting. When used, these services are chosen with privacy in mind and limited to what's required for the site to operate.

Examples include CDN providers, basic analytics providers and ad partners. None of these are used to build user profiles for resale.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the site and its hosting environment. However, no internet service is perfectly secure — if you find a security issue, reporting it responsibly via GitHub is appreciated.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with a short summary and date. Small editorial clarifications may be made without notice.

Questions & further info

We prefer limited direct support to keep the project low-maintenance. If you need to report an issue or suggest an improvement, GitHub is the best route — contributions, issues and pull requests are welcome there. You can also browse our tools or read more on the About page.

No contact page is provided by design; public suggestions via GitHub keep interactions transparent and minimal.
